Austin TX, Texas, United States of America December 15, 2011 -- With Christmas Day approaching quickly and last minute holiday shopping becoming even more hectic than usual, 1020 Glass Art is offering the perfect shopping solution for downtown Austinites on the last Monday before Christmas. Starting at Noon on December 19th, 1020 Glass Art will host a Shop. Save. Dine Luncheon with catered food and a 20% discount off everything in the store. The luncheon will last until 2:00pm.

"It's a great opportunity for office workers to find those last minute gifts for their bosses or families on their lunch break," says Alex Hilderbrand, General Manager of 1020 Glass Art. "I do most of my shopping during lunch, and this way, customers won't have to starve in order to knock off the last few items on Santa's wish list."

In addition to the 20% discount and catered lunch, 1020 Glass Art will also gift wrap your present with nice tissue paper and ribbon or ship the item for a small fee. "Be careful, though," Alex warns, "Monday, December 19th is the last day we can ship glass art out from our store with standard shipping and still have the items arrive before Christmas Day." Alex encourages customers to have their address books ready if they intend to ship and that it might help to check out their website, 1020glassart.com, before they stop by the store for lunch and savings.

"We have over 5,000 pieces of glass art from all over the world," Alex continues, "and we've added over 300-400 this month alone. If you haven't been in the store for a while, there is an enormous selection of blown glass art to choose from. We have glass art necklaces and ornaments that start at $10, and we have signed, glass art sculptures that go as high as $2,000. Really, we have something for everyone."

1020 Glass Art is located at 208 Colorado St in downtown Austin, TX. Validated parking is available in the AMLI Garage on Lavaca or the City Hall Garage between 9:00am and 5:00pm Monday through Friday. If you can't make it for the luncheon, don't fret, as the store typically gives a 10% discount to downtown residents and workers every single day.

1020 Glass Art Adds American Artists and Expands Glass Art Chandelier Lighting Collections

Increased demand for high end art glass lighting, chandeliers, sculptures by residential and commercial interior designers leads to 1020 Glass Art to add domestic artist and glass houses, further evidencing an improving economy and consumer confidence.

June 6, 2011 – Austin, Texas -- Known for their vast selection of hand blown glass art from around the world, increased demand for new and deferred residential and commercial renovations projects has led 1020 Glass Art to seek out new domestic artists and glass art houses to feature at their flagship location in Downtown Austin’s 2nd Street District.  The stronger economy seems to have revived consumer confidence and long dormant projects aimed to more luxury glass art chandelier lighting and premium sculptures accenting homes, commercial and hospitality installations.

Always seeking to provide inspired, original glasswork to both customers and interior designers alike, 1020 Glass Art has succeeded in their nationwide search and added many new product lines to both their online and in-store selections.

This spring 1020 Glass art has added beautiful bowls and sculptures from Vitrix Glass; stunning hearts, crosses, and stars from Luke Adams; elegant bowls and platters from Hudson Beach Glass; splendidly detailed vases and urns from Art of Fire; intricate, recycled glass bowls from Engler Glass; and show-stopping sculptures of incredible design and craftsmanship from Austin Art Fair’s Best in Show Recipient Infinity Art Glass.

Additionally, 1020 Glass Art has been hard at work searching for new lines of hand blown glass chandeliers to complement their existing line of nova bloom and cascade glass art.  To meet the demand of their customers, 1020 is pleased to introduce two new chandelier lines of timeless quality and style.

About our new Glass Art Chandelier Collections:

Venetian Chandeliers: Gorgeous old-world design combined with American charm and sensibility, 1020 Glass Art’s new Venetian chandelier (murano inspired lighting) line comes in a variety of styles and eye-pleasing colors.  Whether you are looking to make a dramatic statement, or simply looking for that elegant final touch to complete your home, 1020 Glass Art has a Venetian chandelier tailored to fit your lighting needs.

Andrew Brott Art Glass Chandeliers:  After twenty six years of work, Andrew has developed a style of design and execution based on creation and death, life and decay, destruction and erosion. Andrew’s designs are always changing and evolving to fulfill different purposes, thus creating a natural and living aesthetic.  Andrew’s glass art chandeliers and lighting are inspired by the Arts and Crafts movement, uniting aesthetic and structural elements into a unified whole with breath taking craftsmanship and premium art lighting design.

About our new American artists and glasshouses:

Art of Fire: Located in a renovated dairy barn in Montgomery, Maryland, the five different glass blowers at Art of Fire perform each step of the glassmaking process themselves.  No molds are used in their free blown, off-hand technique.   Each unique piece is a product of years of experience and expertise.

Vitrix Glass: Passionate about bringing craft and design together to give each piece its own character, master glassblower Thomas P. Kelly trained under Thomas Buechner III in Corning, New York.  The work of Vitrix Glass Studio has been collected, exhibited and published internationally and can be found in galleries across the U.S., Europe, and Japan.
Luke Adams Glass:  Luke Adams is a studio glass artist working in Norwood, Massachusetts.  L.A. Glass is known for its vivid, wild colors and simple, beautiful shapes.

Engler Glass:  Each Engler piece is designed and made by Dylan and Amy Engler in Columbus, Ohio using flame working, kiln forming and cold working techniques.  In the past year Dylan and Amy have won six awards for their newest work including first place and best in show.

Hudson Beach:  Established in 1987 in an old ice factory, Hudson Beach glass is hand cast with a characteristic chill wrinkle.  Hudson Beach Glass is made with found-object molds and textured materials.  Available in either a semi-translucent or opaque finish, Hudson Beach’s glass comes in a variety of colors inspired by precious stones.

Infinity Art Glass:  The perfect marriage of both art and science, Scott Hartley’s intricate blown glass is made from a furnace that runs 24 hours a day, 365 days per year near Kansas City, Missouri.  Scott pours himself into his work and makes designs of all colors and sizes in paperweights, sculptures, fish, and much more.

1020 Glass Art is delighted to feature these new American artists and continues to search out more high-caliber artisans from this country and around the globe.

Origins of our Name, Logo, and Concept

Aden Star of Texas’s name stems from the old world inspirational word for fire, the source of all glass art.  When combined, “fire star" and "Texas” create a vision of timeless brilliance and grandeur.

1020 Glass Art’s triangular logo was inspired by classic art deco elements from an era of distinctive artistic spirit which inspired a generation of creativity. The name "1020" originated from the concept of bringing the value of yesterday's “Five and Dimes” into the 21st century.

The largest independent affordable glass art retailer in Texas aims to provide a "Glass Art 101" approach to interior design assistance with its DesignPro Advantage Program to individuals and designers.

Austin, TX (PRWEB) January 15, 2010 -- 1020 Glass Art and Décor, introduces its new DesignPro Advantage Help Desk to address and answer the many questions that arise when first considering the design, purchase, and installation of unique works of art such as glass art chandeliers, wall art glass, and comparable decor endeavors.

The DesignPro Advantage Help Desk, housed at 1020's Interior Design Center, is dedicated to Glass Art, available for free professional assistance to individuals and interior designers alike. Staffed with well trained Art Consultants, each employee is skilled with rigorous hands-on training from design to physical installation of the glass art chandeliers, and wall art glass arrangements. DesignPro Advantage aims to provide custom guidance for individual art selection and placement.

Many of our clients find themselves inspired to create their own glass art expression for a variety of reasons, but lack an easy resource of where to begin. Our experienced staff will work diligently to bring each client's vision into reality. The DesignPro Advantage staff is accessible 7 days a week, in store, by calling 1-877-PRO-1020 (776-1020).

Sr. Art Consultant and co-partner David Mitchell notes, "Many of our clients find themselves inspired to create their own glass art expression for a variety of reasons, but lack an easy resource of where to begin. Our award winning, experienced staff will work diligently to bring each client's vision into reality."

Fielding countless inquires, 1020's DesignPro Advantage Help Desk has learned firsthand the answers to many of the most common questions including the illustrative Top 5 Questions when considering not only the purchase but the glass art chandelier installation itself.

1) Can I afford it - How much do they cost?
A surprise to many, hand blown glass chandeliers are affordable. Slightly more than your common local hardware store lighting, blown glass art chandeliers will add beauty and a measurable value to one's home and life.

2) What size and shape is best for my home or business?
Placement ultimately determines both, 1020 Glass Art Chandelier "Rule of 3" quickly simplifies Size, Position, as well as Color.

3) How difficult are they to install and maintain, and can I do it myself?
If you can hang a ceiling fan, you can install a chandelier. Aside from supporting weight (customarily 1.5 lbs. /stem), the attaching, positioning, and rotating of each stem is actually the longest time aspect, but the most fun part of the installation. Maintaining is easy using condensed air for cleaning and with bulb replacement accessed through the top.

4) Can I custom mix and match colors and which are best for me?
Yes, perhaps the most personal and challenging; referring to the "Rule of 3", try to limit to 3 surrounding/desired color elements. Select the primary and adjust the remaining in descending percentages.

5) How do the chandeliers ship and how long does it take?
Shipping experience is key, 1020 Glass Art fully insures, individually packages each stem, and provides a few "just in case" extras in the event of the unexpected. Shipments customarily arrive in as little as 2 weeks.

Founding partner, Ryan Ramirez notes, "Much like planning a premier event, each of The Interior Design Center's team members truly enjoys the sense of completion and the relationships earned while assisting clients personalizing their environments to meet their design goals". Ramirez adds, "Whether their vision originated by visiting an exhibit by a renowned artist or merely an abstract desire to craft a one-of-a-kind focal point for their home or business, our long term relationship approach has been a measured success by the high rate of satisfied returning clients and one of the drivers behind our DesignPro Advantage Help Desk".

With the client relationship being the key philosophy behind the introduction of DesignPro Advantage, an interior designer incentive program, proprietary training and The Interior Design Center itself, 1020 Glass Art & Décor remains focused on many new initiatives including expanded product lines (e.g. garden glass art) and avenues into providing art and value to a broader audience.

David Mitchell, copartner who closely works with several interior design clients, comments, “Custom design based installations such as a recent glass wall art project in a residential high rise lobby has demonstrated the demand for our product and services. From small, personal residential décor and gifts to commercial endeavors, we understand a well trained staff is key to exceeding expectations".

1020 Glass Art & Décor (www.1020glassart.com) was launched in 2006 by business partners Ramirez and David Mitchell, as a brick-and-mortar and e-commerce merchant specializing in high-quality, well-styled international glass art. The goal was to offer glass at affordable prices, starting in the $10 to $20 range, thus making it reasonable for value-minded buyers. Out of that objective came the store's name --"1020." Clearly, the business plan has worked. Thanks to a targeted marketing plan and strong e-commerce sales, 1020 Glass Art & Décor has doubled its sales and customer base each year with customers as far away as New York, Miami and west of the Colorado Rockies, resulting in sales of thousands of unique works of art annually.
